Baseball Announces Hiring of Billy Price As Volunteer Player Development Assistant
Sep 4, 2025 | Baseball
NEW ORLEANS –Tulane Head Coach Jay Uhlman recently announced the hiring of former Tulane pitcher Billy Price to his staff as the volunteer player development assistant.
"Billy is making his return to Uptown and will assist Frankie Niemann with Player Development and Analytics," Coach Uhlman explained. "He got some experience in this field over the past year and really wanted to get back into the team aspect. We jumped at the opportunity to bring him back. The players will benefit from his experiences in our program in 2023 and 2024 and from what he has learned over the past 12 months."Â
Price was a key member of Tulane's back-to-back AAC Tournament winning and NCAA berth teams including serving as one of the team's captains in his final campaign. He went 3-3 in 2024 with a 3.33 ERA while appearing in 20 games with six starts, 30 strikeouts in 51.1 innings pitched. He had a complete game two-hit performance against Florida Atlantic in the conference tournament.
In his first year on the Tulane campus in 2023, Price pitched in 23 games with six starts. He threw 35 innings and totaled 39 strikeouts.
The Morristown, New Jersey native started his collegiate career at the University of Virginia.
