Baseball Announces 2026-27 Incoming Class

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane baseball team, under the direction of head coach Jay Uhlman, released its 21 newcomers for the upcoming 2027 campaign on Wednesday.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank our staff for the diligent work they put in with this class," Coach Uhlman explained. "It is a positive step in re-establishing the traditional blueprint of roster building with foundational pieces from the high school and junior college ranks while using the portal to pick up quality pieces that have collegiate experience. We are excited to welcome this class to our proud tradition and assist them in creating their own."
The team's freshman class includes Noah Bolinger (LHP), Branden Place (RHP), Beckett Suh (INF), and Laird Williams (RHP).

High School: Attended State College Area High School…Was a Second Team All-State selection and a three-time All-Conference selection…Aided the program win the District Championship.

Hunter Shaw (LHP), Gr., 6'5", 225, Chelsea, MI / Ohio State University
Prior to Tulane: Spent the last three seasons at Ohio State after starting his career at Lansing Community College….Was an OSU Scholar Athlete in each of the last three seasons…Academic All-Big Ten the last two years…A CSC Academic All-District selection in 2025…Graduated from OSU with honors.
2026: Missed the season due to injury
2025: Made 19 appearances and two starts on the mound…Struck out a career-high 35 in 44.1 innings pitched and compiled three wins and one save…Fanned a season-high four batters against Eastern Michigan (3/11) and against Michigan State (4/19)
2024: Made 17 appearances, including three starts, on the mound…Struck out 24 in 28.1 innings pitched and recorded one save and a 2-2 record…Fanned a season-high six in his Ohio State debut against BYU (2/17).
Prior to Ohio State: Played his freshman season at Lansing Community College…Was the NJCAA Division II Pitcher of the Year, as well as being named to the NJCAA Division II All-Region Team and earning First Team All-American status…Compiled a 9-2 record in 2023, fanning 88 in 62.2 innings pitched and finishing the season with an ERA of 1.58..His 1.58 ERA was the fourth-lowest in the country that season and he recorded four shutouts…Helped lead Lansing to the Division II World Series, where he tossed 6.0 innings and gave up just two runs in the team's second-round win.

2026: Aided Mineral Area Community College to the Regional Championship…Played in 60 games with 54 runs, 82 hits, 15 doubles, a triple, 18 home runs, 74 RBIs, 31 walks, a .383 batting average, a .463 on-base percentage and a .715 slugging percentage…Was First Team All-Region.
Prior to Mineral Area CC: Redshirted the season at App State.
High School: The top-ranked catcher in the state of Maryland…Played at Georgetown Prep, where he was also ranked the 18th-best player in the state by Perfect Game…Helped the Little Hoyas capture their fifth consecutive conference championship in 2024, catching a no-hitter in the championship game…Was named an IAC All-Conference selection…Was one of seven players from the Georgetown Prep class of 2024 to go on to play collegiately.
