TULANE QUOTES
HEAD COACH Bob Toledo
It's a comedy of errors. I about had a heart attack at halftime I was so mad. I was yelling and screaming. I haven't been that mad in the three years since I've been here.
We give everyone so many opportunities and we don't practice that way. We have some guys who have to step to the forefront. We make too many mistakes. That's the thing that's so bothersome. We work so hard as coaches and players and then to come into a game and perform like that is really disheartening.
On Mistakes:
They take the opening drive and go down and score and we had it twice. They had it once in the first quarter. Then we fumble and they score down there. Then we drive down the field and we are on the five-yard line and our guard jumps off-sides. Then they change their coverage and they get pressure and we don't get the ball off. Then we have a horrible snap by the center. It's his job to snap the ball. He hasn't snapped the ball well all year, punting wise or field goal wise. He snaps it poorly and we get it blocked and they run it back for a touchdown. It's super, super frustrating.
Better than the score?
We just continue to make mistakes and we aren't good enough to get past those mistakes. They are a good football team and we got to play perfectly to stay close and we were far from that.
SENIOR RUNNING BACK André Anderson
You hate saying everything goes wrong. You try to go out there. I told myself to go out there and just do my job. I was just trying to play as hard as I could. It's definitely just devastating - things don't go your way, field goals, fumbles. Everything. It's definitely frustrating. This is one of the hardest losses that I've ever had.
You just try so hard. Sorry. It might be a build up, it might be this game. I got really up for this game rivalry game. I haven't played these guys (in three years). It's just frustrating. We're 2-5 now, we got LSU next week. We got four games to finish out the season- four conference games. We got a new quarterback. We tried to protect him as much as we could.
On whether this is the way he expected his senior season to go: It's definitely not. We started out slow. We made changes to the O-line and we changed the quarterback - just trying to get things going. We got some injuries on the defensive side. They're playing as hard as they can. We got to do better. We got to score more.
