Overall thoughts on the weekend
"It's going to be a really exciting weekend for us. It's our first travelmeet with the girls. It'll be the first time we're all getting together in our travel sweats, getting on a plane and fly somewhere else. The relay meet is going to be real exciting and our goals are to just have fun and to swim smart. The dual meet with North Texas will be a 16-event format and will be a long meet. We're going to go the mile for the first time, the 200 IM for the first time and the 400 medley relay for the first time, so we're really excited about that, too. We get to switch up our line-up a little bit and try some different things with the girls. Hopefully we can take some good swims from Friday and put that into Saturday for a good dual meet against North Texas."
On her familiarity with the North Texas team
"The team from North Texas now is a completely different team than it was five years ago. Joe came in and totally revamped the program. He's recruited some great high-school level athletes and has really developed them into great Division I athletes. It's going to be a tough meet. They're a very good team, they're a very big team and he is a great coach. We're going to get our fair share of competition on Saturday."
On the status of her team following last Saturday's meet with UNO
"We have not backed down at all. Conditioning has just gotten harder in the pool and in the weight room. We've added about 10 percent volume on last week's volume, so we're really training right through this week. We don't typically rest during the season, so the girls are pretty tired. We're hope the excitement of traveling, the excitement of swimming a fast team and swimming an off meet - really a relay meet for some of them - will help to get some fast times out of them."
On who she thinks has the potential for a big weekend for the Green Wave
"I think it will be Lauren Pfohl again. Grace Tarka is a racer. She'll race anybody any day of the week. I'm also looking at Kylie Kastes. She kind of had a rough meet the first one around. She's one of our more experienced swimmers, but I think she's kind of taken a look at her events in the first meet and really built upon this week. We're looking for her to score some big points for us."
