NEW ORLEANS - October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and this Saturday coaches and players from the Tulane football team will show their support by sporting pink additions to their home uniform when the Green Wave hosts Conference USA rival at the Louisiana Superdome. Kick-off is slated for 2:35 p.m.
TU players will wear pink shoe laces, wrist bands, towels and pink helmet stickers, while the coaching staff will wear pink pins on their coaching shirts. Tulane encourages all fans to wear pink in support of one of the most worthy causes this Saturday.
Tulane is also honoring the 40th Anniversary of the 1970 Liberty Bowl Champion Green Wave football team's 17-3 upset victory over Colorado. The first 1,970 fans will receive a newspaper front page commemorative poster announcing the victory, and the 1970 football reunion class will be honored at halftime.
Pre-game tailgating festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. on top of Garage 5 with Tulane celebrating Halloween a day early. Tulane student athletes will be running booths for the kids with trick-or-treat festivities and face painting. Inflatable activities and a rock wall will also be available along with music provided by P2 Entertainment.
Tickets are as low as $20 for adults and $10 for kids and are available online at www.tulanegreenwave.com, in person at the James W. Wilson Jr. Center or by calling the Tulane Ticket Office at (504) 861- WAVE (9283).
