On the team's goals for the weekend
"Ultimately, our goal is to have 100 percent season-best times this week. I think the girls are prepared to drop a significant amount of time in each event. I expect to see some of our school records drop over the next couple of days."
On who she expects to stand out at the C-USA Championship
"Each girl on the team has the potential to stand out for us. Swimming is a little different in most sports in that there isn't a lot of instant gratification. While we've had season-best times throughout our regular season, 'taper' time is a little different. Each athlete can expect to swim significantly better due to the amount of rest that we've had over the last couple of weeks.
"Lauren Pfohl, Emily Needham, and Allie Evans are a few of our higher-seeded swimmers. I hope to see them hold or exceed their seeds in their respective events. All three of them have been consistently some of our top performers. I'm also very excited to see what our relays can do. We've made some changes to our relay line-ups and I think that the outcome is going to be great."
On how hard the team worked all year in preparation for this meet
"The team has worked extremely hard. Most of them began in week one lifting weights for the first time in their lives. Now, looking back over the last 27 weeks the girls have put in about 1.2 million yards of swimming in addition to two-to-three weight lifting sessions per week, plus two-to-three runs per week."
On if she planned on shaking up her lineup for the C-USA Championship
"I wouldn't say that we have any surprises. Our preparation all season has revolved around consistency and I think we'll be consistently fast across the board this week. It's exciting to be back at this meet and participating with such a talented group of athletes."
