NEW ORLEANS - The 2010 Tulane cross country team will return the majority of each squad and compete at five meets before starting their postseason schedule at the beginning of November. The season opens at the Georgia Invitational on September 4th and will lead up to the Conference USA Championships in Tulsa, Okla. on November 1.
The Green Wave will open their season at three competitions hosted by Southeastern Conference schools. The first meet of the year will be on September 4 when they travel to Georgia to compete in the Georgia Cross Country Invitational. The meet will be competed at the University of Georgia Equestrian Farm in Bishop, Ga. with the University Division competition starting at 8:00 a.m.
The Crimson Classic will be the second meet on the Tulane schedule on September 18 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Olive and Blue will then head West on I-10 to compete at the LSU Invitational on September 25. The meet will take place on the course at Highland Road Park, with races starting at 9:30 a.m. in Baton Rouge.
The October portion of the schedule will start at the Watson Ford Invitational, hosted by Mississippi College, on October 8th. The meet will take place on a Friday - away from the normal Saturday competitions - at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Miss. starting at 4:30. The final tune-up meet before the postseason begins will be at the Chili Pepper Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas on October 16. The two teams will travel to Fayetteville to race on Razorback Cross Country Course at Agri Park.
The Conference USA Championships will take place on November 1 at Tulsa, followed by the NCAA South Central Region Championships at Baylor on November 13. The 2010 NCAA National Championships will be competed on November 22 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terra Haute, Ind.
