ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Tulane's first-year bowling team placed seventh in match play on Sunday in the final day of the Bethune-Cookman Wildcat Invitational at the Ormond Lanes.
The Green Wave (10-15) fell to host Bethune-Cookman, 4-0, in the fifth-place bracket semifinal match. The match is the best of seven played in the Baker format. Tulane then received a bye in the consolation match to place seventh in the program's first match play contest.
The seeding for the match play was based on total pins from the previous two days of competition and Tulane sat eighth among the 12 teams.
Farleigh-Dickinson claimed the championship with a 4-0 victory over Morgan State.
For the weekend, Tulane posted a 7-6 record, including a 5-1 mark in Saturday's team competition. Freshman Kelsie Kelly posted the tournament's fourth-highest game when she rolled a 251 during the team competition Saturday.
