The Day on the Life of a Student-Athlete: Eric Jones
You see them on the field and interviewed on ESPN but who are these student-athletes? Having the opportunity to get to know the athletes on a more personal level is a highlight of working in athletics. So we thought we'd give all of our fans the same opportunity. The Tulane Athletics Department introduces "The Day in the Life of a Student-Athlete: Summer Edition." One student-athlete, per day, for a week.
Second in our series is junior offensive tackle, Eric Jones. When you first meet Eric, one of the first things you notice is his size, which is a really good quality in an offensive tackle.
After a conditioning session at practice, Eric goes to lunch at "The Grocery" on St. Charles with some teammates. He takes some time to explain the "nutrition program" for his position and shares he need to weigh close to 300 pounds by opening day, September 3rd. After enjoying a hearty meal, he winds down by supporting the U.S. women's soccer team as they face France. Then, he heads to Perlis with some teammates to get fitted for a tux. After sharing some laughs with his teammates and the Perlis staff, he's ready to take on his American Presidency Politics class. Check out the highlights by clicking on the link above!
