NEW ORLEANS – Tulane senior Emily Penttila shot an even-par 72 during her final round today, giving her a 3-over 219 total for an 18th place finish, while the Green Wave combined for a 4-over 292 total, their best round of the tournament, for a 37-over 901 total and a 14th place finish at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
Today, Penttila played even for 14 of 18 holes, recording two birdies and two bogies, to finish with an even-par 72.
Senior Madison Opfer improved in her final round, shooting an even-par 72 as well, putting her at a 9-over 225 total for the tournament and a tie for 38th place in the individual rankings.
Freshman Laura Munoz stroked a 5-over 77 on the day, giving her a 12-over 228 total and tie for 55th place in the tournament, while senior Silva Garces hit the third even par score for the Green Wave today, giving a 14-over 230 total and a tie for 59th place individually.
Freshman Abbie Cantwell notched a 4-over 76 in her final round, bringing her to a 21-over 237 total and a 74th place finish overall.
“It was good to notch our best round of the tournament and see our seniors shoot well today,” Tulane head coach Lorne Don said. “Unfortunately we dug ourselves a deep hole the first two days so this was not the finish we were hoping

Maria Torres of Florida claimed the individual title following a 3-under 69 effort today.
With its fall season complete, the Green Wave will begin their offseason and return to the links at the UCF Challenge, Feb. 7-9, 2016, at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
