* Saturday's meeting between Tulane and UConn marked just the second meeting between the two schools. With today's win by the Huskies, the series is now tied, 1-1. The Green Wave defeated UConn last year, 12-3, at Yulman Stadium.
* Tulane is now 0-2 at Yulman Stadium on homecoming. The Green Wave dropped their inaugural homecoming contest at Yulman Stadium last season to Memphis, 38-7.
* Saturday's contest marked the first game at Yulman Stadium in which it rained.
* With senior SS Darion Monroe's interception to close out the first half, Tulane has now recorded a turnover in 42 of 46 games under head coach Curtis Johnson. It also marked the first turnover for Tulane after a two-game hiatus, as the Green Wave did not record an interception or fumble recovery at Navy or at Memphis during the last two weekends.
* Tulane has now posted 101 turnovers (57 Int/44 FR) during Johnson's tenure.
* Monroe's interception marked the fifth of his career, as well as his second of the season. The senior also had an interception against Maine on Sept. 19.
* Senior SS Darion Monroe logged 11 tackles (8 solo, 3 assists) on the evening, marking his third game of the season with double-digit tackles.
* Junior linebacker Nico Marley logged 10 tackles on the day, including seven solo stops. Marley has two double-digit tackle games this season and five for this career.
* Marley entered the game ranked third in the American and 36th nationally in solo stops with 42. He now has 49 on the year or 5.4 per game.
* Redshirt-sophomore CB Parry Nickerson's blocked field goal with 5:33 remaining in the third marked the first blocked field goal since Derrick Strozier did so at Rice on Nov. 30, 2013.
* Tulane picked up a first down on a fake punt with about 7:00 remaining in the fourth quarter, marking the third time this year the Green Wave have successfully picked up a first down on a fake punt this season.
* The Green Wave posted 9.0 tackles for loss on the game, giving them 70.0 on the season. Heading into the contest, Tulane ranked second in The American in the category, as well as 18th nationally. The 9.0 TFLs were registered by eight different players, which recorded at least a 0.5 TFL on the day.
* UConn tallied just 227 yards of total offense on the day, which is the least amount of yards surrendered by the Green Wave defense since 233 last season at UCF.
* For the first time in his career, sophomore receiver Teddy Veal did not register as reception, which snapped a string of 20 straight games.
* Seven Tulane players extended their double-digit starting streaks on Saturday against UConn: OG Chris Taylor (24), LB Nico Marley (22), OG Colton Hanson (21), DT Tanzel Smart (21), DE Royce LaFrance (20) and CB Parry Nickerson (20).
* Tulane's game captains for Saturday's contest against UConn were junior RB Marshall Wadleigh, senior OT Arturo Uzdavinis and senior S Darion Monroe.
