Bowling Secures Bid to Host 2016 Southland Bowling League Championship

NEW ORLEANS -- In just its second season in the Southland Bowling League Conference, Tulane has received the honor of hosting the 2015-16 Southland Bowling League Championship, announced the league offices on Friday.
The tournament will take place from March 25-26, with a practice day to be held on Thursday, March 24. The tournament is being played on a Friday and Saturday, with the practice day being the day before, to respect Easter Sunday, which is on March 27.
"Tulane bowling is beyond excited for the Southland Bowling League Championship to be in our home town. We look forward to showcasing the competitiveness of the league to the local area," commented Tulane head coach Hayley Veitch. "It gives the ladies something to work hard for throughout the year and especially for our seniors to end their collegiate career."
The Championships will be the second tournament hosted by the Green Wave on the season, as Tulane will also hold the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Bowling Invitational from Oct. 17-19 at the AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.
The Green Wave will take part in 10 tournaments this season. The SBL is comprised of Tulane, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, Monmouth (N.J.), Valparaiso and Vanderbilt.
