NORFOLK, Va. -- The Tulane women's swimming & diving team was again honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team. Tulane is one of 179 Division I universities to be recognized for having a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2015 Fall Semester.
"Our women continue to lead the way when it comes to succeeding in the classroom," said head coach Katie Robinson. "With the high academic rigors at Tulane, and how many hours they dedicate to our sport in training, I am extremely impressed and proud of this ranking and accomplishment. A lot of credit should go towards Caltha Seymour and her staff, namely Micahla Williams, for his effort and time in serving as our team's academic coordinator. These women on our team deserve a round of applause and most certainly have my standing ovation."
The Green Wave ranked 28th nationally, along with Rice and Butler, among Division I women's programs after finishing the semester with a 3.49 team GPA. Tulane is one of six teams from The American to make the list. It ranks second only to Cincinnati among league teams.
The squad will return to action this week, traveling to Houston for a quad meet against the Cougars, LSU and Rice. Competition is set to begin Friday, Jan. 29.
