Football Adds Thakarius 'BoPete' Keyes to 2016 Signing Class

NEW ORLEANS -Tulane head football coach Willie Fritz announced today the signing of Thakarius "BoPete" Keyes to the Green Wave's 2016 signing class.
Keyes is a 6-2, 180-pound defensive back from Laurel (HS), Mississippi, and was a two-year letterman for Coach Todd Breland. He helped his high school to a pair of state titles, one each in football and basketball, and a state runner-up
As a senior on the gridiron, Keyes led the Golden Tornadoes to a 10-4 overall record and to the state semifinals. He accounted for 81 tackles, five interceptions, including one return for a touchdown, and two blocked punts and was named to the all-state first team.
Keyes, who did not start playing football until his junior season of 2014, helped his team to a 13-2 overall record and a state title as a junior. He recorded 25 solo tackles and blocked two punts in 2014.
As a basketball standout, Keyes helped Laurel High School to a 27-5 overall record and a state title as a senior and to a mark of 25-6 and a state runner-up finish as a junior.
