NEW ORLEANS – Tulane football head coach Willie Fritz met with the media for his weekly news conference Tuesday after practice as the Green Wave began their preparations for Saturday's American Athletic Conference home game against Tulsa.
Tulane (2-2, 0-1 American Athletic Conference | West) returns to action after an open week to play host to the Golden Hurricane (1-4, 0-1 American Athletic Conference | West) at Yulman Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m., and the game will be televised by ESPNU, and broadcast on the Tulane IMG Sport Network, which can be heard anywhere via TuneIn Radio, or in New Orleans on Sports 1280 AM.
Saturday's game culminates Hall of Fame Weekend, as the Green Wave immortalize six individuals and one team into the Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame. Among this year's class are two former football standouts, Michael Calamari (1961-63) and Dennis O'Sullivan (1995-98), and the 1970 football team, as well as former baseball head coach Rick Jones (1994-14), men's basketball standout Rayshard Allen (1994-98), volleyball standout Sara (Radosevic) Vidic, and Billy Slatten Award winner Stephen Martin Sr., a baseball player from 1965-68. The enshrinement ceremony is set to take place Friday, Oct. 6 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Tulane is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with several in-game recognitions celebrating the histories and contributions of Hispanic culture. Upon arrival at the game, fans can receive a limited edition Hispanic heritage t-shirt. Saturday is Louisiana High School Day, and high school students statewide will receive a free ticket to the game, plus up to two additional tickets for guests, with a valid ID.
