DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Former Tulane women's golfers Gemma Dryburgh and Samantha Troyanovich have their sights set on securing a spot on the LPGA Tour as the two are among a 166-player field competing in Stage III of LPGA Qualifying School, which gets underway this week at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Stage III begins Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7 a.m. and concludes Sunday, Dec. 3 with 25 full and 20 conditional LPGA Tour cards for the 2018 season up for grabs. Dryburgh and Troyanovich are amongst an impressive field that will have to endure 90 holes of stroke play over the grueling five-day event. Each participant will be randomly assigned to either the first rotation (Hills-Jones-Hills-Jones) or second rotation (Jones-Hills-Jones-Hills) for the first four rounds. After 36 holes, the participants will be re-paired by score within their respective rotational group. After 72 holes, the field will be cut to the top 70, including ties, and re-paired for the final round to be played on the Hills course.
Both are set to open Stage III on the Jones course with Dryburgh teeing off at 8:06 a.m. CT and Troyanovich teeing off at 8:50 a.m.
The Green Wave duo advanced to the final stage after finishing in the top 80 in Stage II. Dryburgh automatically qualified for Stage II as a top 150 player on the Symetra Tour, while Troyanovich advanced to Stage II after finishing in the top 90 in Stage I in August.
