Beach Volleyball Signs Four Recruits for 2018-19 Season

Gibson comes to New Orleans from San Diego, Calif., where she played indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and water polo, and swam during her high school career. During her time playing beach volleyball, Gibson won five CBVA tournaments and competed in the USAV High Performance Championships. She also competed in the Cal Cup, which includes the top 16 teams in California. Gibson intends to join the School of Science and Engineering with hopes of pursuing a STEM-based career.

Leitko comes to New Orleans from Concordia High School in The Woodlands, Texas, where she was a two-time letter winner in volleyball in addition to playing beach volleyball. Leitko traveled to Santiago, Chile in 2016 for the Pan American Games and Israel for the 2017 Maccabiah World Games, placing first in both tournaments. She intends to major in business with career ambitions of becoming an entrepreneur.

Daane hails from Singapore, where she played indoor volleyball at the Singapore American School. Daane was ranked No. 1 in Singapore's National Beach Volleyball Open Series, where she earned two gold medals and one silver medal in her playing career. She placed first at the National Beach Series in May 2016 and September 2016, and placed second in April 2017. Daane intends to major in psychology with career ambitions of becoming a professional beach volleyball player or a psychologist.

Parise is from Cardiff, Calif., where she played indoor and beach volleyball at both the high school and club level (Coast Volleyball). Parise received a bronze medal at the USA Junior Olympic Trials in 2016 and earned a spot on the roster for the U17 USA National Team in the same year before joining the U19 USA National Team in 2017. Parise, a member of the National Honor Society while in high school, intends to join the School of Liberal Arts with career ambitions of becoming a lawyer.
