Green Wave Club Holds Inaugural Olive & Blue Society Appreciation Dinner

NEW ORLEANS – The Green Wave Club held its inaugural Olive & Blue Society Appreciation Dinner at the Bea Field Alumni House on Friday, November 17. Tulane Athletics administration, coaches, and charter members of the Olive & Blue Society gathered to celebrate this group's incredible impact over eight short months. Altogether, the Olive & Blue Society members have committed more than $2.5 million for Tulane Athletics.
"I am so appreciative of this group of charter members who have committed to the Olive & Blue Society early in its tenure," said Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair Troy Dannen. "This group will help provide our coaches with the recruiting resources they need, enable us to build future athletics infrastructure, and impact the overall experience of each of our more than 300 student-athletes."
The Olive & Blue Society began in March of 2017 with the goal to raise the standard for Tulane Athletics and to provide support beyond programmatic endeavors. The funds raised from the Olive & Blue Society will support capital projects, assist in recruiting resources, and enhance the student-athlete experience.
"This was such a special and important evening for us to show our gratitude to the charter members of the Olive & Blue Society who have stepped up and invested above and beyond for Tulane Athletics and who have continued to build upon the foundation that many have contributed to previously," said Garrett Broom, assistant athletics director for development. "The generosity and commitment of these members stretches through the local New Orleans area and all across the country."
Currently, the Olive & Blue Society has charter members representing six different states (Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, and Texas). The funds raised have supported locker room enhancements and have enabled Tulane Athletics to proudly display the Angry Wave logo at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
