Football’s Marshall Wadleigh Honored with Tulane 34 Award

NEW ORLEANS – Marshall Wadleigh, a four-year letterwinner on the Green Wave football team, has been selected to receive the prestigious Tulane 34 Award.
The Tulane 34 Award is presented each year to 34 graduates who have distinguished themselves by their leadership in their curricular and co-curricular experience at Tulane. The award recognizes those who have excelled in academic achievement, student leadership and community service. Named for the year the University was founded, 1834, the Tulane 34 Award is among the most coveted honors bestowed upon the student body.
A former walk-on who received a scholarship for his senior season, Wadleigh played in 49 career games including all 12 games this past season for the Tulane football team. He saw most of his game action on special teams on both the kickoff and kickoff return teams, in addition to seeing time at tight end. For his career, the Pear River, La., native returned three kickoffs for 21 yards, rushed twice for 26 yards and recorded 16 tackles (15 solo and one assist).
Off the field, the Business Finance major maintained a 4.0 grade point average all four years. He was recognized as a member of the Dean's List and Tulane Athletics' 3.0 Club this fall, as well as honored as a member of the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society. He served as the football representative on the Green Wave's student-athlete advisory committee and remains active with various community service initiatives.
