
Football's Devon Breaux Inks with CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats

HAMILTON, Ontario, Canada – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League recently announced that the former Tulane football standout Devon Breaux has signed a contract with the organization and was added to the team's mini-camp roster.
Breaux, the only former Green Wave player currently in the CFL, was a three-year football letterwinner who played in 34 career games with 12 starts at wide receiver. He totaled 38 catches for 587 yards and five touchdowns to go along with seven kickoff returns for 153 yards.
The Donaldsonville, La., native was also a three-year letterman on Tulane's track & field team, becoming the only male track and field student-athlete in school history to participate in three-consecutive NCAA Regional. Breaux captured the 2015 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the long jump (7.45 meters) while also becoming the first male track & field student-athlete in school history to qualify for the NCAA National Championships after posting a mark of 7.56 meters during the NCAA East Regionals. He notched a 7.44 meter jump at the NCAA National Championships in the long jump to earn Honorable Mention All-America status.
As a true freshman, Breaux was named Freshman of the Meet at the 2013 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships after finishing second in the long jump (7.55 meters) and third in the high jump (2.04 meters) while helping the 4x100-meter relay team finish fourth. He went on to post a mark of 7.14 meters in the long jump at the 2013 NCAA East Regional.
As a sophomore, Breaux helped the 4x100-meter relay team finish eighth at the 2014 C-USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and placed sixth individually in the long jump with a season-best 7.45 meters, He finished 33rd at the 2014 NCAA East Regional in the long jump with a leap of 7.08 meters
