Women's Swimming & Diving Highlights CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams

NORFOLK, Va. – The Tulane women's swimming & diving team was honored by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with Scholar All-America recognition, according to an announcement by the organization Wednesday.
As a team, the Green Wave compiled a cumulative team grade point average of 3.33 during the 2016-17 campaign, as all six American Athletic Conference women's programs made the list.
CSCAA Executive Director Joel Shinofield cited  Tulane's success, noting: "Coach Katie Robinson has done an exceptional job building a top program in the pool and the classroom at Tulane. We are very fortunate to have schools like Tulane and people like provost Jason Gray and director of athletics Troy Dannen who support these exceptional student-athletes."
In total, 720 teams, representing 443 institutions achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2017 Semester. Part of the reason for the increase in award-winning teams is the overall growth of the sport. The number of men's and women's institutions sponsoring swimming and diving is at a 10-year high.
