NEW ORLEANS – Six members of the Tulane women's swimming and diving team were named to the All-Conference team by the American Athletic Conference for their performances at the league's championship earlier in February.
Olivia Johnson earned double recognition from the league for her bronze medal in the 1650 free and her silver medal in the 400 IM. Johnson's 1650 free time of 16:32.87 was the second-best time in team history, and her 400 IM time of 4:11.98 was a new school record.
Also getting on the All-Conference team twice was Paris Zhang. She took the bronze medal in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.27 seconds, the new third-fastest overall time in team history for the woman who already holds the school record.
Zhang, combined with Kate McDonald, Kaitlin Simpson and Courtney Barker earned recognition from the conference as well for their bronze medal in the 200 medley relay. Their time of 1:39.94 broke the Tulane school record by a quarter of a second.
Finally, Shelly Zelnick picked up the bronze medal in the 200 back and was honored with an All-Conference selection as well. Zelnick's time of 1:57.42 tied her own school record.
