No. 16 Beach Volleyball Earns No. 6 Seed in CCSA Championship

NEW ORLEANS - No. 19/16 Tulane beach volleyball team earned the No. 6 seed for the upcoming 2018 CCSA Championship, the league office announced Sunday night. The championship is held at Lakepoint Sporting Community Center in Emerson, Georgia, on April 20-22.
Tulane is in Pool B, along with second-seeded South Carolina, No. 3 FIU, No. 7 College of Charleston and No. 10 UAB. Pool A consists of No. 1 Florida State, No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Georgia State, No. 8 FAU and No. 9 UNCW.
The Green Wave will play every team in their pool before the top two teams from each pool - A and B - advance to the tournament's semifinals. Tulane's first dual of the weekend comes against South Carolina at 12 p.m. Friday. The Green Wave close the opening day of the tournament at 3 p.m. against FIU.
The second day of the Championship starts at 10:30 a.m., as Tulane plays UAB. The Green Wave then face College of Charleston at 1:30 to wrap up Saturday's action.
The semifinals start at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with the championship match held at approximately 1 p.m. Eleven Sports USA became a broadcasting partner for this year's Championship and is scheduled to broadcast both semifinals and the final on Sunday live.Â
Last season, Tulane was seeded eighth for the CCSAÂ Championship, finishing the tournament 2-2 with wins against UNCW and South Carolina.
This year, the Green Wave roll into the Championship on a hot streak. Tulane concluded its regular season this past weekend at the Palmetto Invitational, finishing the season 21-12 overall, 4-7Â CCSA. Tulane went 3-1 over the two-day competition, picking up wins against nationally-ranked College of Charleston, Missouri State and Coastal Carolina.
