Tulane Women’s Golf Continues Competition at Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – The Tulane University women's golf team tallied a six-shot improvement on Monday, but it was not enough to move up the leaderboard, as the Green Wave remained in 17th place after two rounds at the 2018 Silverado Showdown.

Tulane tallied nine birdies and 48 pars as a team during second round competition. The Green Wave own a two-day total of 620.

The three-day event is being held at the par 72, 6,202-yard Silverado Resort.

Sophomore Haydyn Gibson led the way for the Green Wave during round two, as she posted her best single round score of the spring, finishing at even par. The Clearwater, Fla., native closed the day with three birdies and 12 pars.

With her second round score of 72, Gibson moved up the leaderboard 13 spots and is currently in 71st place with a two-day total of 155.

Freshman Jennifer Rosenberg is the top ranked Tulane individual after two rounds, as she is tied for 53rd thanks to a second round score of 77. Rosenberg enters the final round with a tournament total of 152.

Junior Laura Munoz, junior Sofia Goicoechea and sophomore Gabrielle Correia are all tied for 79th (159) entering the final round on Tuesday.

Stanford University holds the overall team lead (575) heading into the final round. Mika Liu (Stanford) and Jennifer Chang (USC) are tied for the overall individual lead (138).
