NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University Athletics Department released its 2017-18 Annual Report on Wednesday.
Last year, Tulane Athletics excelled in the classroom, in competition and in the community. The 2017-18 annual report captures the accomplishments of Tulane University student-athletes, coaches and staff.
"The future is bright for Tulane," Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair Troy Dannen said. "Both institutionally and athletically, all indicators are pointing up. We owe a debt of gratitude to the 125 athletic department coaches and staff, as well as our student-athletes, for a great year and the bright future ahead."
2017-18 Tulane Athletics Highlights
-Bowling, women's cross country, men's tennis and volleyball earned perfect multi-year scores of 1,000.
-Tulane posted a department grade point average of 3.08.
-Tulane had 225 student-athletes post a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
-Green Wave student-athletes posted 3,000-plus hours of community service.
-The Green Wave finished 15th in the NCAA Team Works Competition.
-Tulane was one of just 24 schools nationally to have one player selected in the NFL, NBA and MLB Drafts.
-Seven Tulane student-athletes earned All-America honors.
-The Tulane men's tennis team captured its first American Athletic Conference championship.
-Sixteen Tulane student-athletes were named All-Conference by The American.
