TULANE OPENS 125TH SEASON AGAINST WAKE FOREST
- The Green Wave welcome Wake Forest to Yulman Stadium for their 2018 home opener at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The game will be aired live on the CBS Sports Network.
- Tulane enters 2018 in the hopes of making its 12th bowl appearance in program history. The Green Wave just missed becoming bowl eligible a year ago, as it finished with a 5-7 record.
- This is the second time in three years Tulane has opened the season against Wake Forest.
- Tulane holds the all-time series lead against Wake Forest (2-1).
- Prior to the game, Tulane will retire former Green Wave student-athlete Devon Walker's No. 18 jersey from competition among all athletic teams.

- The Green Wave are in search of back-to-back season-opening wins. The last time Tulane captured back-to-back season-opening wins was at the start of the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
- Tulane has not won three straight home openers since the 1998, 1999 and 2000 seasons.
- The Green Wave own a 65-57-2 record all-time in season openers. In home openers, Tulane has posted an all-time mark of 71-49-4.
- Tulane has posted a record of 5-5 in its last 10 home openers.
- The Green Wave featured a strong rushing attack a year ago, averaging 231.5 yards per game which ranked fourth in The American and 20th in the FBS. Since 2016, Tulane's rushing attack has never gained fewer than 100 yards on the ground.
- Quarterback Jonathan Banks returns for his senior season after he threw for a team-best 1,797 yards. He also tossed 12 touchdowns. His five interceptions (219 attempts) gave him a program-best interception percentage of just 2.28 percent.
- Senior linebacker Zachery Harris is Tulane's top returning tackler from a year ago. Harris finished 2017 with 69 stops. Harris enters his senior season with 132 career tackles.
- Tulane returns 52 letterwinners and 18 starters from last year's squad.
- Head coach Willie Fritz begins his third season at Tulane. In his 25 years as a head coach, Fritz has never posted three straight losing seasons.
- Each of Fritz's assistants have remained on his staff for during his tenure at Tulane. Tulane is the only football staff in the country that has not changed in three seasons.
