Tulane University to Celebrate 125 Years of Green Wave Football

NEW ORLEANS – The 2018 campaign marks the 125th season of Tulane University Football. In honor of this historic season, the Tulane Athletics Department will recognize the program's rich history.

Tulane Athletics is asking fans to share their most memorable moments of Green Wave Football through the department's official 125 Year Celebration Microsite.

On Nov. 18, the department will recognize the football program with a birthday celebration during the women's basketball team's matchup with Washington at the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

The department also will honor program at the Green Wave's home football games throughout the month of November and will give a commemorative 125th anniversary t-shirt during the Tulane-Navy game.

The celebration on Nov. 18 will be in honor of the program's first official game, which occurred on Nov. 18, 1893 against the Southern Athletic Club.

In addition, Tulane Athletics also will honor the achievements of the Green Wave football program through a season-long content series, which will be featured on the department's official website, TulaneGreenWave.com.

The Green Wave open the 2018 season on Thursday, August 30 at home against Wake Forest while supplies last.
