Hall Nominated for the Broyles Award
Nov 13, 2019 | Football
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University offensive coordinator Will Hall has been nominated for the 2019 Broyles Award, which honors the top assistant coach in college football.
Hall, who began his first season at Tulane this fall, earned the nomination after he established the Green Wave offense as one of the top units in the American Athletic Conference.
This fall, Tulane's offensive attack has posted 500 or more yards of total offense in five games. Since 2016, Tulane only surpassed 500 yards of total offense in two games prior to 2019.
Tulane's 6.81 yards per play average ranks 13th in the nation and third in The American. The Green Wave's 473.6 yards per game average currently ranks second in program history for a single season behind only the 1998 team. The Green Wave rushing attack has been especially impressive, averaging 261.2 yards per game – a figure, which ranks 10th in the nation.
Under Hall's direction, Tulane's offense has posted the fourth, 17th, 19th and 27th-best single game outputs in program history.
The Broyles Award was created in 1996 recognizing Coach Frank Broyles' legacy of selecting and developing great assistants during his hall of fame career as head coach at Arkansas.
