Bowling Sits at No. 16 in NTCA December Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La. – After a solid run of tournaments in the month of November, the Tulane bowling team continues its run as one of the top teams in the country as the Green Wave check in at No. 16 of the National Tenpin Coaches Association December poll the organization announced on Wednesday.

Tulane, one of seven teams from the Southland Bowling League to be ranked in the latest poll, earned 349 points as the team currently has a 27-24 record in competitions this year.

The Green Wave opened the month of November with an eighth-place finish at the Track Kat Klash in Houston, following up with a pair of 11th-place finishes at the SFA Ladyjack Hammer Classic and the UMES Hawk Classic.

Sam Houston State is the highest-ranked SBL team in the December poll, clocking in at No. 2. Arkansas State is fourth, Vanderbilt is fifth, Stephen F. Austin is eighth and Youngstown State is ninth. Louisiana Tech comes in at No. 11.

McKendree is the new No. 1 team in the country, with Nebraska at No. 3, Eastern Shore at No. 6, North Carolina A&T at No. 7 and Duquesne at No. 10 rounding out the rest of the top 10 teams in the nation.

Tulane will be back in action January 10-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada, taking part in the Stormin Blue & Gold Vegas Classic.
