Bowling Trio Named to Inaugural SBL All-Academic Team

FRISCO, Texas – Tulane Green Wave bowling seniors Hailee Hammond and Tiera Gulum, along with junior Isabelle Lee have been named to the first Southland Bowling League All-Academic Team the conference announced on Monday.

In the first year of the Southland Bowling League's All-Academic squad, 19 student-athletes from six member institutions are represented, as Tulane is one of five institutions with multiple honorees. Youngstown State leads the All-Academic team with five honorees, while Vanderbilt and Stephen F. Austin each had four, followed by Tulane's three and Louisiana Tech's two.

Hammond wrapped her Tulane career by down 7,131 pins in 38 games, with a pin average of 187.65. Over the course of the last three regular season tournaments, Hammond rolled three games of 245 or better, and seven games over 200 in netting a season-high 266 in Tennessee against Saint Francis College.

Gulum continues to have the honors roll in, as this season she was named to the Southland Bowling League All-Conference Second Team, an NTCA All-American Honorable Mention, Track Kat Klash All-Tournament team and KU Invitational All-Tournament Team, ending the year with a 209.00 average at the league's annual bowling championships.

Lee finished her junior season knocking down 7,301 pins in 39 games for a pin average of 187.20. At the UMES Hawk Classic, Lee posted games of 233 against Sam Houston State, 231 against Vanderbilt, 213 against Youngstown State and 200 against Sacred Heart, helping Tulane post a third-place finish in the event, the team's highest finish of the season.
