TULANE TO OPEN ITS 126TH SEASON AT THURSDAY NIGHT AGAINST FIU
-The Green Wave welcome FIU to Yulman Stadium for their 2019 home opener at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The game will be aired live on the ESPN3.
-Tulane visits FIU for just the second time in program history.
-FIU won the first all-time meeting back in 2017 in Miami, defeating the Green Wave 23-10.
-The Green Wave opens the 2019 season with hopes of building off a memorable 2018 campaign that saw Tulane win five of their final six games, including the AutoNation Cure Bowl.
-Tulane's final push in 2018 earned them a share of the 2018 American Athletic Conference West Division title.

1. The Green Wave will look to capture their third season-opening win in the last four years.
2. Tulane owns a 65-58-2 all-time record in season openers. In home openers, Tulane has posted an all-time mark of 71-50-4.

4. Tulane enters 2019 in search of its second consecutive bowl appearance. The Green Wave has only appeared in back-to-back bowl games once in program history. Tulane has never won bowl games in two straight seasons.

9. Tulane finished 2018 with a league-best 41 sacks. The previous year in 2017, the Green Wave totaled just 16 sacks.
10. The Green Wave ranked second in The American a year ago in rushing defense, redzone offense and redzone defense.

SCOUTING FIU
-Head coach Butch Davis returns for his third season at FIU. In the two previous seasons, Davis has posted a mark of 17-9.
-FIU has broke or tied 102 school records under Under Davis' leadership.
-FIU finished 2018 with a 9-4 overall record and 6-2 mark in conference play.
-The Panthers also captured the 2018 Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl.
-In 2018, FIU averaged 34.6 points per game and held opponents to just 25.2 points per game.
-FIU welcomes back 52 letterwinners and 17 starters from last year's squad.
-Quarterback James Morgan and linebacker Sage Lewis headline the Panthers' list of returning players for 2019.
-Morgan finished 2018 with a school record 26 touchdown passes and was named to the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List.
-Lewis was selected as the Conference USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year following a 2018 campaign that saw him tally a school record 132 tackles.
