TULANE READIES FOR PRIMETIME MATCHUP WITH HOUSTON
- The Green Wave welcomes Houston to Yulman Stadium on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The game will be aired live on the ESPN.
- Tulane's matchup with Houston will mark the 25th all-time meeting between the two teams.
- Tulane will be in search of its fifth win in six years in American Athletic Conference home openers.
- Tulane will play host to its first ESPN Thursday Football Matchup at Yulman Stadium.
- Tulane is receiving votes in the Coaches Poll for the third straight week.
- The Green Wave will be in search of their fifth straight win at home.
- Tulane's current four-game home winning streak which dates back to last season is the Green Wave's longest consecutive unbeaten streak since moving into Yulman Stadium back in 2014.

1. Tulane will be in search of its best start to a season since 2003 when the Green Wave opened the year 3-1.
2. The Green Wave will be in search of their first 3-0 start at home since 1999.
3. Senior quarterback Justin McMillan is a perfect 4-0 as a starter in home games.
4. Senior wide receiver Darnell Mooney has caught at least one pass in 21 consecutive games.

SCOUTING HOUSTON
- The Cougars will come to Yulman Stadium with a 1-2 record with their lone win coming against Prairie View A&M and losses to No. 5/4 Oklahoma and No. 20 Washington State.
- Senior D'Eriq King leads Houston at quarterback with 434 passing yards and four touchdowns on the season.
- King was named to the Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List in July.
- Junior Kyle Porter has gained a team-high 213 yards rushing, while King is tops on the team with five rushing touchdowns.
- Senior Keith Corbin leads the Cougars with 144 yards receiving and one touchdown.
- Junior Marquez Stevenson adds 15 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
- Stevenson was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list before the season.
- Head coach Dana Holgorsen is in his first season as the Cougars' head coach after eight season at West Virginia.
THE TAKEAWAY BEADS RETURN
- The college football phenomenon of awarding players who come away with a turnover got a little New Orleans flair on Aug. 31, 2018 as the Green Wave introduced the nation to the Takeaway Beads and forced three turnovers against Wake Forest.
- Tulane's takeaway beads made their return in 2019, as senior cornerback Thakarius Keyes and Cameron Sample each came away with turnovers in the Green Wave's 2019 season opener against FIU.
- Against Auburn as Tulane recovered a pair of fumbles courtesy of sophomores Chris Joyce and Jeffery Johnson.
- Last week against Missouri State, Tulane tallied three interceptions one of which went back for a touchdown
- This season, Tulane has seven turnovers (three fumble recoveries and four interceptions). In 2018, Tulane forced 18 turnovers.
- The seven turnovers gained by the Green Wave ranks ninth among FBS teams and second in the AAC.
- Tulane's four interceptions lead The American and rank eighth nationally.
MAKING WAVES ON DEFENSE
- Tulane held Auburn to just five rushing yards in the first quarter and just 20 yards in the first half.
- The Green Wave is holding opponents to just 4.29 yards per play, which ranks 19th among all FBS teams.
- Tulane ranks 25th in the nation in total defense and has limited opponents to just 276.0 yards per game.
- Tulane's ranks in the top 50 in 11 defensive categories.
BIG PLAY WAVE
- Tulane had a flair for the big play in 2018, as it totaled 59 offensive plays that went for 20-yards-or-more.
- The Green Wave picked up right where they left off from a year ago with 12 plays that have gone for 20 yards in 2019.
- In 2019, Tulane has totaled four plays that have gone for over 50 yards - a figure which is tied for sixth nationally.
- In the season opener, RB Corey Dauphine highlighted the Green Wave's play ability against FIU as he averaged 25.3 yards per carry in the Tulane's win over FIU. Dauphine finished the night with three carries for 76 yards.
- Freshman RB Tyjae Spears totaled eight carries for 89 yards. He also had one reception that went for 88 yards.
