Veitch Releases 2020-21 Bowling Schedule
Oct 14, 2020 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane bowling is slated to play one of the toughest schedules in the nation as coach Hayley Veitch and the bowling program release the 2020-21 schedule on Wednesday.
The seven-match schedule begins in mid-November and will run until March with the battle for the Southland Bowling League Championship in Houston. The slate will have the squad compete in two matches before a winter break, with five events taking place when competition continues in the spring.
"It has definitely been a challenge to put together a schedule for this season with so much uncertainty with COVID and many modifications have had to be made," Veitch said. "Although tournaments will be a little different with additional safety precautions the health and wellness of everyone is our top concern. The additional time has allowed the team to prepare and work on more items than we have in the past, but we are ready to step up our game and compete on the lanes. Let's get this season started."
The season will kick off on November 6-8 with the Louisiana Tech Classic in Ruston, Louisiana. The Green Wave will then travel to Houston, Texas, for the TRACK Kat Klash, hosted by Sam Houston, on November 20-22.
After a winter break, the Olive and Blue will get back to competition on January 29-31 with the Prairie View A&M Invitational, in Dallas.
The Green Wave will head back to Dallas on February 12-14 for the Louisiana Tech Tournament. Tulane will hit the lanes on February 19-21 for the Mid Winter Invitational, hosted by Arkansas State, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
On March 5-7, Tulane will travel to the Music City Classic. Vanderbilt will play host to the tournament in Smyrna, Tennessee.
The regular season ends March 19-21 at the SBL Championship in Houston, as the winner of the tournament will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships in North Kansas City, Missouri. The NCAA will select at-large teams for a series of play-in events April 2-3 at select host sites, with those winners advancing to the finals against teams who earned automatic qualifications from winning their conference championships on April 9-10.
The USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships will be held from May 5-8th in Addison, Illinois.
Due to the uncertainty and unprecedented times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this schedule may change. Be sure to check TulaneGreenWave.com for all future announcements and updates.
