Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.
"I'm from Dallas, Texas and currently live in Dallas with my wife Natalie (Tulane University '00) and our two kids. I was a men's track and field letterwinner from 1994 to 1997. I work in Development/Special Events for American Athletic Conference foe SMU, so I sometimes get to see and support the Green Wave at work."
What's your favorite memory from your time competing for the Green Wave?
"Outdoor conference championship meets are great memories for me. The conference meet is what we prepared for and built towards all season. During my freshman year, Tulane hosted the conference championship and I had a breakthrough race, so it was especially memorable. However, the most exciting and memorable thing for me was competing in both my individual event (400m hurdles) and as a team (4x400 relay) at some of the biggest track meets in the country. Being from Dallas, competing at the Texas Relays was special, but competing at the Penn Relays — which is one of the biggest track meets in the world — was a truly amazing experience. Seeing the Penn Relays on TV each year brings back fond memories of competing for the Green Wave."
Why do you choose to support Tulane Athletics?
"I support Tulane Athletics because athletics was a valuable part of my Tulane experience as both a competitor and a fan. When I was in school, I felt a bond with Tulane Athletics and built some great friendships with both track & field teammates and other athletes. Whether it was supporting the baseball, basketball or volleyball teams at home games, or traveling to see the football team play in Baton Rouge, being a Green Wave fan was an important part of my experience. As a fan, traveling to the Liberty Bowl in 1998 with friends I had watched games with for years and seeing Tulane wrap up a perfect season is a special memory. I want both the student-athletes and fans to have the best experience possible and to have the opportunity to create memories of their own."
What do you love most about the city of New Orleans?
"I truly love New Orleans and the city really became my second home while I was at Tulane. I was fortunate to have teammates and close friends who are from New Orleans and really feel like I got to know the city well and felt like an honorary local."
What have you enjoyed most about watching Tulane football compete this season?
"I really enjoyed the overtime battle with SMU. SMU is having a good season and Tulane gave them a great game. Seeing freshman Michael Pratt put on an impressive performance gives me hope for the future. I love seeing the return of football to campus. As students, we lamented not having home football games on campus and it's great to see Tulane football play at Yulman Stadium."
