
McDonald Named AAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

NEW ORLEANS — Tulane swimming & diving's senior Kate McDonald was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
McDonald shined in Monday's meet against LSU, taking gold in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke events at the LSU Natatorium.
The Evergreen, Colorado native recorded season-best times in both events, finishing with a league-best time of 1:01.59 in the 100-yard event and a time of 2:14.92 in the 200-yard race. These wins mark the sixth and seventh individual first-place finishes in three meets this season for the senior.
McDonald, alongside freshman Danielle Titus, sophomore Hailey Roberti and senior Courtney Barker, also helped the Green Wave to a second-place finish in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:43.37.
Nicole Stambo, a sophomore at SMU, was named the AACÂ Women's Diver of the Week.
The Olive and Blue will be back in action on Monday, Jan. 11 as Tulane heads to Houston, Texas to take on the Cougars.
