First and 10 with Noah Taliancich
May 21, 2020 | Football
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University welcomed seven early enrollee newcomers this spring that began classes and are working hard to make their mark on the Green Wave football program.
Throughout the spring, TulaneGreenWave.com will introduce each player through a 10-question series called First and 10.
Name: Noah Taliancich
Position: Defensive Lineman
Hometown: Destrehan, La.
Previous School: Destrehan
Has it been an advantage for you to enroll in college early?
"I think that was a huge advantage for me because not only did I get that extra time on the field and in the film room, but it also gave me some time to build some relationships with my teammates and our coaches. Ultimately, I just want to get better and that's why I enrolled early."
How would you best describe yourself?
"I like to be good at what I do. I'm very competitive and I want to be the best at what I do whether it's on or off the field in the classroom."
What made you decide to come to Tulane?
"It was honestly pretty much a no-brainer for me. I remember sitting at my ring ceremony in high school and Coach Fritz called me. He wanted me to come visit that same weekend. I think all my family knew right then and there that was going to commit – there were no questions asked. I've been a Tulane fan all my life. My family has been season ticket holders our entire lives and we've been there through good times and bad, but I feel like Tulane is really on the upswing. It's a good feeling to go play with a winning Tulane team."

Is it fair to say that Tulane was your dream school?
"Absolutely. A lot of kids grow up in the state thinking of LSU as their dream school, but I would have chosen Tulane any day."
What got you into playing football?
"Honestly, it was my dad, but it wasn't in a typical way. My dad comes from a baseball family. When I would play baseball my dad would keep getting on me about a bunch of little things, so I figured it would be harder for him to critic my play on a football field as opposed to a dugout. When I tried out football, I just loved it and kept playing."
What are you planning on studying in school?
"I am going to study marketing and I would like to get more involved in sports marketing."
Being from Louisiana, what is your favorite in-state food to eat?
"I've grown up with red beans and rice, but I really don't think you can go wrong with crawfish broils. I also really like beignets."
What is the best advice you would give someone who is looking to become a college football player?
"I think the best advice I could give is that you have to go where you are wanted. I also think you have to pick a school on more than just what opportunities exist from a football standpoint. You also can't let any outside influences affect your decision because ultimately, it's your life for the next four to five years."
Who is your biggest role model?
"Probably my grandfather. He's just been there with me the whole way. I know I can talk to him about anything. I come from a big family, so I can't really go wrong with asking advice for from anyone in my family."
What is one thing that is going to stand out from your high school football career?
"Just playing with all of my friends from high school. Everyone tells you that playing high school football is going to be some of the best times of your life and that it's never going to get any better and I think a lot of that might be true. I made so many memories with my teammates from high school and I made some life-long friendships. Playing at the Superdome during the state championship also was a lot of fun."
