
Tulane Swimming and Diving Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University swimming and diving team's strong showing in the classroom from the 2020 spring semester was recognized this week by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), as the squad was awarded Scholar All-America honors.Â

The Green Wave finished the spring semester with a team GPA of 3.791.

"I am so proud of the academic success displayed by our student-athletes," said head coach Leah Stancil. "Their dedication to academic excellence always impressed me especially during these unprecedented times. I am truly proud to coach these young women."

Tulane was one of 461 schools to receive the award for the Spring semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring grade point averages (GPA) and represent 17,982 student-athletes.Â

CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart mentioned the efforts of Coach Stancil noting that "No team was unaffected by this Spring's pandemic but Athletic Director Troy Dannen and President Michael Fitts can and should be proud of their team and the work of Leah."Â
