Oct 1, 2021 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University bowling team will open its 2021-22 campaign on Saturday, as it takes part in the Southwest Intercollegiate Conference Tournament. The two-day event will be held in Dallas, Texas.
Â
Participating teams will draw for starting lane assignments and both days of competition will begin at 8 a.m. Texas A&M University will serve as the tournament host.
Â
"We could not be more excited about the start of the 2021-22 season," head coach Hayley Veitch said. "The past couple of weeks have been very challenging for our team as a result of Hurricane Ida, but I am so proud of our team's resilience and their ability to stay focused. This event will present our team with a great challenge and provide us with a good idea of where we stand as a program early in the season."
Â
The tournament on Saturday will consist of five (5) games of team play and three (3) 4-game Baker matches. On Sunday, the tournament will consist of seven (7) team games.
Â
Veitch embarks upon her 11th season in Uptown and returns her entire roster from the 2020-21 season, including honorable mention All-American and second team All-SBL honoree Madison McCall.
Â
Every member of the team was named National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic during the 2020-21 season.
