No. 16 Tulane Bowling Comes Back Strong on Day Two

CORAM, N.Y. -Â Coming off of its performance in Friday's matches, the No.16-ranked Tulane Bowling team came back stronger than ever for day two of the Dezy Strong Classic.

The Green Wave finished Saturday 5-0, making their overall tournament record 8-2. With only one day left to go the Green Wave sits in second place in the 16 team field trailing Vanderbilt by  a tight margin of 76 pins.

In the first match, Tulane remained in close competition with . Madison Mccall lead the Wave to victory with her best score of the day accounting for 244 of the Wave's 910 total pins. With the early push on the lanes, St. Francis College Brooklyn picked up their first win of the day 910-766.

Match two was the first of the tournament the Olive and Blue broke 1000, resulting in Tulane besting host Adelphi 1,003-906.

In match three, Tulane unleashed some of its most impressive work of the season thus far. Every member of the Tulane team hit the 200 mark. This would end up being the largest margin of the day for the Wave beating Bloomfield by more than 300 pins, 1147-846.

Tulane saw another explosive match this time vs Prairie View A&M. The Olive and Blue dominated the Panthers 980-828.

Finally with a 4-0 record coming into the final match of the day, Tulane prepared to meet Youngstown University. The team performed just how coach drew it up. Coming in with an aggressive attack game, the Green Wave bowlers followed Morga Gitlitz to the finish, defeating their opponent 1054-981.

Tulane ended Saturday with two bowlers in the top five. Mccall leads the 49 bowler through two days of play with 1,134 total pin fall, averaging 226.80 a match. Gitlitz sits in third with 1,103 total pins to her name claiming on average 220.60 pins a match.

Tulane will finish out the Dezy Strong Classic tomorrow starting at 8:30 a.m.
