
Tulane Bowling on Top After Day One of Sonic Boom Invitational

JACKSON, Miss. – The Tulane Bowling team got off to an aggressive start at the Sonic Boom Invitational going 4-1 on Friday. The Green Wave knocked down 5,068 pins, averaging 202.7 per game. Tulane's day-one pin total places first in a eight team field.
Tulane started the day off hot, taking the first two sets of baker matches. Defeating Grambling State 1032-709 and Southern University 984-768.
In match three, Tulane outscored Florida A&M University by a staggering 1078-833. Within this matchup the Green Wave scored a perfect 300 baker, making it the first ever in the school's history.
In match four, the Olive and Blue found themselves trailing early, falling behind the Louisiana Tech University after two games. The Green Wave couldn't mount the comeback, dropping the match 954-1011.
In the final match of the day, Tulane faced the tournament hosts Jackson State. The two traded off games both taking a pair heading into the fifth. The Green Wave held strong, taking game five and winning the match-up 1020-846.
Tulane will return to action tomorrow at 9:35 a.m for traditional play. The teams will compete in five traditional matches on Saturday, and the cumulative pinfall from days one and two will determine the seeding for Sunday's bracket.
