
Four Tulane Football Players Named All-AAC

NEW ORLEANS – Four Tulane University football players earned All-American Athletic Conference honors on Wednesday, as the league announced its 2021 all-conference team.

Headlining this year's list of honorees was senior punter Ryan Wright, as he earned his second straight First Team All-AAC honor.

Junior linebacker Dorian Williams and junior offensive linemen Sincere Haynesworth both earned Honorable Mention honors. Both received Second Team All-AAC honors at the conclusion of the 2020 season.

Rounding out the list of all-conference honorees was junior safety Macon Clark, as he was named Honorable Mention, earning his first all-conference nod.

Wright received first team honors after he posted career highs in punting average (47.5) and posted a career long 69-yard punt. In addition, the San Ramon, California, native had 22 punts that traveled 50 yards or more. His punting average led The American and ranked seventh nationally. Wright also was selected as a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award – an award given to the nation's top collegiate punter.

Williams took home honorable mention recognition after he established himself as one of the league's top linebackers. As a junior, the Fort Mill, South Carolina, native averaged 6.1 tackles per game and accumulated 73 total on the season.

Haynesworth earned honorable mention honors after he played a key role in paving the way for Tulane's rushing attack which averaged 164.8 yards per game – a figure that ranked fifth in The American. Haynesworth made starts in all 12 games this past season.

Clark earned his first all-conference nod this season after finishing as the Green Wave's leading tackler with 74 stops on this season. The Louisiana native averaged 6.1 tackles per game and picked off four passes for a total of 78 yards this season, ranking third in the AAC.
