NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University defensive end Patrick Johnson was selected as the sixth pick in the seventh round (234 overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2021 NFL Draft Saturday afternoon.
Â
With his selection, Johnson becomes the 146th Tulane player chosen in the NFL Draft in program history.
Â
Johnson becomes the second Green Wave player to be selected in this year's NFL Draft. Earlier today, teammate Cameron Sample was taken by the Cincinnati Bengals with the sixth pick in the fourth round (111 overall). The Green Wave have now had two players selected in the NFL Draft for the third time in the last four years.

The Chattanooga, Tenn., native etched himself in the Tulane record books throughout his career. He closed his career as the all-time leader in sacks with 24.5. Johnson is also sixth in tackles for loss with 40.0 in his career.
