
Bowling Takes Home Six NCBCA Collegiate Scholar Athlete Awards

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University bowling team had six athletes earn the Collegiate Scholar Athlete award from the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA).

The group consisted of juniors Crystal Singh and Veronica Petrinec, sophomores Jenica Baron and Amelia Vasquez and freshmen Morgan Gitlitz and Yarelis Alvarez.
Â
Singh earned a 3.95 GPA while double majoring in English and Philosophy and minoring in German. Petrinec held a 3.91 GPA with a Political Science and Sociology double major.
Â
Baron posted a 3.76 GPA with a Public Health and Psychology double major. Vasquez upheld a 3.96 GPA with a Psychology major.
Â
Gitlitz posted a 3.51 GPA while majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology. Alvarez rounded out the group with a 3.91 GPA in Studio Art with a History minor.

To win the award, each athlete must maintain a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA.

Singh, Petrinec, Baron and Vasquez earned Southland Bowling League All-Academic Team honors last season. Â
