In the next installment of our 2021 Summer Spotlight Series, Tulane Athletics highlights swimming and diving's Noa Heron.
What's the biggest thing you are trying to accomplish to get better for next season?
"I would say by my biggest goal that I want to accomplish for next season is to be a good leader for the team. I want to always try to bring a good attitude to practice and to enjoy every moment with the team! I hope to help foster a positive team environment throughout the season, despite the challenges we might face."
Do you feel good about the progress you have made in preparation for the upcoming season?
"Yes! I have put in a lot of work while training at home in Florida and feel very prepared and excited for the upcoming season."Â
How has Coach Stancil helped you progress as a student and as an athlete?
"Leah has taught me many lessons about perseverance and dedication as a swimmer, which has also applied to my studies as well!"Â
What are you looking forward to the most this season?
"I am really looking forward to a (hopefully) quarantine-free season and getting back to some of our TUSD traditions. I am also so excited to travel and compete with the ENTIRE team and bring all of our energy to the meets!"
What is your favorite thing about attending school at Tulane?
"I love attending Tulane because of the amazing atmosphere that New Orleans gives off! I also love being a part of such an awesome team! I feel so at home and comfortable with my past and present teammates and we always have a blast together, whether we are in or outside the pool."Â
What have you enjoyed doing the most this summer?
"I am especially grateful for the time I get to spend with my family over the summer. I have really enjoyed spending time on the boat or the beach and just being under the Florida sun."Â
How excited are you to watch your teammate Danielle Titus compete in the Olympics?
"SO EXCITED! All of her hard work is finally paying off and I cannot wait to watch her represent Barbados and the Green Wave in Tokyo!!!"
