
Bowling Sweeps NTCA All-Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane University bowling team swept the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic awards, the association announced Tuesday.
As a team, the Green Wave earned the NTCA All-Academic Team Award with a 3.786 cumulative GPA during the 2020-21 season. The team's GPA ranked fourth overall among all bowling teams in the NCAA. Programs must have a cumulative team GPA of a 3.2 or higher for the 2020-21 academic school year to qualify for the award. A record 59 bowling programs achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher this season.
All seven members of the bowling team were named NTCA All-Academic as individuals. A student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year to qualify for this award.
Madison McCall achieved a 3.71 GPA while majoring in Chemical Engineering.
Crystal Singh earned a 3.95 GPA while double majoring in English and Philosophy and minoring in German. Veronica Petrinec held a 3.91 GPA with a Political Science and Sociology double major.
Jenica Baron posted a 3.76 GPA with a Public Health and Psychology double major. Amelia Vasquez upheld a 3.96 GPA with a Psychology major.
Morgan Gitlitz posted a 3.51 GPA while majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology. Yarelis Alvarez rounded out the group with a 3.91 GPA in Studio Art with a History minor.
Singh, Petrinec, Baron and Vasquez earned the honor last season.
