
THE GOOD STUFF: Tulane Athletics Looks Back on the Week That Was

NEW ORLEANS – Three Tulane University teams were in action this past week, as the Green Wave kicked off the 2022 calendar year.
Listed below is a look back at the GOOD STUFF from the week that was for Tulane Athletics.
THE GOOD STUFF
Women's Basketball
-Redshirt senior Krystal Freeman notched her fifth double-double of the season and the 27th of her career posting 14 points and 11 rebounds at home against UCF on Wednesday, January 5.
- Redshirt senior guard Moon Ursin matched her career-high with 15 rebounds against UCF on Wednesday, January 5. She became the first Tulane player to record 15 or more boards in a game since Freeman pulled down 17 rebounds against Southeastern on December 19, 2020.
Men's Basketball
-Sophomore forward Kevin Cross guided the Green Wave to a 1-1 week, as he averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He also connected at a 46.4 percent clip and dished out five assists on the week. Cross' 17-point performance against USF also helped Tulane remain undefeated at home in league competition.
-The Green Wave are currently 3-1 in American Athletic Conference play and are off to their best start in league competition since the 2014-15 campaign.
Football
-Former Tulane football players Ryan Griffin (Tampa Buccaneers), Dontrell Hilliard (Tennessee Titans), Patrick Johnson (Philadelphia Eagles), John Leglue (Pittsburgh Steelers), Cameron Sample (Cincinnati Bengals) and Roderick Teamer Jr. (Las Vegas Raiders) will all take center stage in 2022 NFL Playoffs beginning this week.
-Former wide receiver Darnell Mooney continued to shine for the Chicago Bears, as he finished the 2021 season with 1,055 yards. In two seasons with the Bears, Mooney has totaled 142 receptions for 1,686 yards.
