Tulane Athletics Celebrates Another Record-Setting Give Green
Apr 16, 2026 | General
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics celebrated another successful Give Green earlier this month – winning the Big Green Grand Prize for a second consecutive year while setting records for both individual donor contributions and dollars raised on the university's annual day of giving.
Held on April 7-8, Tulane Athletics received more than $1 million in contributions from more than 1,200 individual donors – both new high-marks for any individual school or unit in the nine-year history of Give Green, breaking the previous records set by Tulane Athletics during Give Green 2025. This also marks the first time any school or unit has surpassed $1 million raised and 1,000 donor thresholds on Give Green.
The record-setting day helped unlock all three of Tulane Athletics' Give Green challenges from the Roussel Family, Johnson Family, and Brian Bormaster – ultimately awarding a total of $175,000 in additional support.
"We are profoundly grateful for the incredible generosity shown by the Green Wave Family on Give Green," said Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair David Harris. "Every gift plays an instrumental role in strengthening our department and furthering the support we are able to provide our student-athletes. The Green Wave Family stepped up and showed the entire Tulane community that Tulane Athletics matters to them. We could not do what we do without you, and for that, we thank you for your continued commitment."
Tulane Athletics also earned first place in Group A of the Big Green Grand Prize competition, sponsored by Debbie and Rick Rees, earning an additional $8,000 for the Green Wave Club. The friendly competition amongst Tulane's schools and units encourages donor participation, awarding prize money to the schools and units who see the highest number of unique donors on Give Green. Within Group A, Athletics topped the Tulane Law School (639 gifts), the A.B. Freeman School of Business (409 gifts), and the School of Medicine (283 gifts) to claim first place.
New in 2026, Tulane Athletics supporters had the opportunity to allocate their Give Green support to either the Green Wave Club Annual Fund or the Green Wave Talent Fund. Making its Give Green debut, the Talent Fund received over 350 donations. The Green Wave Club Annual Fund received nearly 900.
"The incredible success of Give Green is only possible because of the remarkable support displayed by those who love Tulane and understand the impact they can make," said Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, Justin Berger. "Coast-to-coast (and around the world – hello, Ireland!), the Green Wave Family stepped up in a record-setting way, and we are exceptionally grateful for their generous support."
Across all of Tulane University, Give Green 2026 built upon its strong upward trajectory during the nine-year history of the day of giving, raising a preliminary total of $2,467,197 from 5,071 individual donors.
