Hawk Classic - Day 2 Results
Millsboro, Delaware – The No. 17 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling team went 2-3 on the second day of the Hawk Classic on Saturday at Millsboro Lanes in recording 4,538 total pins. The program currently stands in 12th place. Morgan Gitlitz earned All-Tournament honors for her play as she placed third overall in traditional play.
Tulane, who have a combined record of 6-4 in the first two days of competition, are one of only eight squads in competition with six or more wins. The Green Wave have 8,890 pins and an average of 177.8 pins a game.
The program started the day with an 911-899 win over Long Island University by an 843-781 score. The second game saw Tulane earn the 1015-847 victory over Wilmington. The third game was an 915-852 loss to North Carolina A&T. The fourth game was an 1019-891 loss to Delaware State. The fifth was an 972-869 loss to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Gitlitz was the team's highest finishing individual with 1,030 pins and her average of 206.0 to earn All-Tournament honors. She placed third overall of the 121 bowlers.
Amelia Vasquez placed 37th with 917 pins and average of 183.40.
Jenica Baron earned 60th with 729 pins and average of 182.25.
Katharina Mente was 73rd with 675 pins and average of 168.75.
Yarelis Alvarez was 83rd with 514 pins and average of 171.33.
Mia Stolakis was 97th with 337 pins and average of 168.50.
Sofiia Druchyna was 109th with 184 pins in her one game played.
Cassidy Williams was 114th with 152 pins in her one game played.
Tulane finishes up the tournament on Sunday morning with the best-of-seven baker matches beginning at 7:25 a.m. The program starts play against Mount St. Mary's. The program could be playing for as high as ninth place.
