NEW ORLEANS - Tulane linebacker Nick Anderson and punter/kickoff specialist Casey Glover each earned Player of the Week honors on Monday.
The awards came on the heels of the Green Wave's 17-10 victory at Kansas State on Saturday.
Anderson led a Green Wave defense that limited previously unbeaten Wildcats to 10 points and 336 total yards in a 17-10 road victory en route to being named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Anderson tied for the team lead with six tackles, including a tackle for loss, with a quarterback hurry. Two of his stops came on fourth down plays as Tulane held KSU to 1-for-5 efficiency on fourth down and 2-for-15 on third down.
Glover averaged 41.9 yards on his seven punts with a long of 61 and one that was downed inside the 20. The junior from Jericho, New York also kicked off four times, averaging 64.5 yards there. Of his 11 total kicks, five went for touchbacks and only one was returned as Kansas State's average drive start for those 11 was inside the 25. For his efforts, he was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association Special Teams Player of the Week.
