Sep 2, 2022 | Women's Bowling
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University bowling team and head coach Hayley Veitch announced the Green Wave's 2022-23 schedule on Friday. The campaign consists of 10 regular season events. For the second straight year, and the third time since 2019, the program will host a tournament, the Colonial Lanes Classic, from October 14-16 in Harahan.
"Our tournament schedule will allow us to compete against a variety of very skilled teams throughout the season," Coach Veitch explained. "I am excited because we are going to compete in a couple of tournaments where we haven't participated in the past to give the team new experiences. In prior years we have typically scheduled a lighter fall, but this year we decided to add an additional tournament to even out the semesters. It is a competitive schedule, but one that I feel we will be able to excel in."
Tulane opens the season with the Rattler Classic in Pensacola, Fla., hosted by Florida A&M from October 7-9.
The Olive and Blue will then head back home for the annual Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan on October 14-16. The program finished sixth of 12 teams last season in a very competitive and highly-ranked field.
Tulane wraps up the month of October at the DezyStrong Classic in Coram, New York from October 28-30. The tournament's host institution is Adelphi University.
The month of November begins for the Green Wave with the Track Kat Klash in Houston, Texas from November 4-6. The tournament is hosted by fellow Southland Bowling League member Sam Houston State.
Tulane's final 2022 fall tournament is the Hawk Classic in Millsboro, Delaware from November 18-20. The tournament's host institution is the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

The tournament is hosted by Mount St. Mary's from January 8-10 at the South Point Bowling Plaza. The Olive and Blue finished seventh at the same tournament last season.
The team makes their third trip of the season to the Northeastern corner of the country to close out the month at the Northeast Classic in Deptford, N.J. from January 20-22. The tournament is hosted by Sacred Heart University and Long Island University.
The month of February begins for Tulane at the Lady Techster Classic from February 10-12 in Dallas, Texas at USA Bowl. The Green Wave finished sixth overall in last year's event which was also hosted by Louisiana Tech.
The month concludes for the team with the Stallings Invitational in Greensboro, North Carolina from February 24-26 at Triad Lanes. The tournament's host institution is North Carolina A&T.
The Green Wave begin the month of March with a trip to the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee from March 17-19. The tournament's host is Vanderbilt University. Tulane placed 14th of 33 teams in last year's competition.
The regular season finishes for the Green Wave with the Southland Bowling League Championships from March 24-26 in Dallas, Texas. Last season, Tulane was defeated by eventual 2022 Southland Bowling League champion Vanderbilt in the opening round of the double elimination tournament, beat eventual NCAA runner-up Stephen F. Austin in the second round before falling to NCAA Tournament-bound Arkansas State to end the team's run. Six of the eight schools in the conference were able to secure NCAA bids last season.
The NCAA Championship Regionals will be played April 8-9 at a site that has yet to be announced. The NCAA Championships are being compete from April 14-15 in Las Vegas at the South Point Bowling Plaza.
Tulane's bowling team finished the 2022 season ranked No. 19 in RPI and had an overall record of 57-47. The program won the Southwest Intercollegiate Conference Tournament in the fall and qualified for a berth in the Intercollegiate Team Championships in the spring.
